The Internal backup
oscillator option for the DA series adds an internal
oscillator backup. For example, the DA101010-03 is a 10
MHz distribution amplifier with an internal 10 MHz TXCO
back-up oscillator.
Normally, the DA101010 has an external 10 MHz input
applied to it. The output signals are thus derived from
this input signal and the output frequency accuracy will
be identical to the input frequency. accuracy.
However, if this external input is disconnected, or its
level falls to less than -5 dBm, an internal 10 MHz
oscillator is automatically switched in, taking over
from the external signal. The output signals are now
derived from this internal 10 MHz oscillator.
The standard internal
oscillator has an aging of 1 x
10-9
per day. The oscillator is always powered, so is
instantly available should it be needed.
A front panel tri-color led shows the status of the
DA101010. A green color means the external 10 MHz
signal is being used. An orange color means the
internal 10 MHz oscillator is being used. A red color
means there is a fault and neither oscillators are being
used. |
