General Description

The DA101010 is a 10 MHz distribution amplifier.  It can be used for synchronizing up to 13 instruments to a common frequency reference.  Typically, the reference will be 10 MHz signal from a primary frequency oscillator (other input frequencies are available).  The reference output frequency will be exactly the same as the input frequency.

A unique feature of the DA101010 is automatic gain control (AGC).  AGC allows the input level to vary from -10 dBm to +20 dBm without the output levels changing.  Inputs as low as -30 dBm still produce a valid output signal.

Sinewave Outputs

There are ten sinewave outputs.  Harmonics are typically 70 dB down on the carrier (-70 dBc), ideal if the 10 MHz outputs are used in a multiplier situation.

Every output can be independently set to an  level, anywhere from 0 dBm to over 13 dBm.  This is useful where instruments with different reference input levels are to be connected to the DA101010.

Squarewave Outputs

Two squarewave outputs drive TTL squarewave signals into an open circuit or 50 ohm impedance.  The frequency of each squarewave output can be independently set to 10 MHz, 5 MHz, 2 MHz, 1 MHz, 100 kHz or 1 pps (pulse per second).  Frequency control is by two front panel rotary switches.

This is useful if the equipment to be synchronized uses a different frequency to 10 MHz.

Slave Output

A slave output is also available to connect further distribution amplifiers.  In this way over 1000 outputs can be derived from one signal frequency reference.

Applications

The DA101010 10 MHz Distribution Amplifier is ideal for use in calibration or standard laboratories, radio repair workshops or production facilities.

Many Options Available

There are many options available for the DA101010 series.  If your requirement doesn't exist, we'll make it especially for you.

Options include:

  • Different frequencies.  Any frequency from 1 MHz to 15 MHz is available in the DA101010 series.  Frequencies from < 1 Hz to over 1 GHz are available with other models manufactured by us.

  • Redundancy, whereby two units operate as a pair.  If one unit should fail, the second unit takes over.

  • Sinewave or squarewave outputs.

  • Internal back-up oscillator, automatically switched in if the external signal fails.

  • Multiplied or divided outputs.  E.g. 5 MHz input, 10 MHz output.

  • High output levels, up to +20 dBm.

  • Different gain versions, so input levels from -50 dBm to +20 dBm can be tolerated.

  • External DC back-up power input.  Automatic switchover from AC to DC.
