Introduction
The CFS10B is a crystal frequency standard supplied in a
19" rack mount case. It can have many options
fitted, such as ultra low phase noise crystal
oscillators and up to 15 fully isolated outputs.
The standard CFS10B has a basic 10 MHz OXCO fitted and
one output. However, most customers ask for better
quality oscillators and more outputs.
Different Frequency Outputs
The standard output frequency is 10 MHz. However,
any frequency output can be supplied. Typical
frequencies are 1,5,10,10.23,10.24,13,50,75,80,100 MHz,
1.0, 1.575 and 2 GHz as well as a DDS output. The
DDS output offers any frequency from 0 to 80 MHz
settable in 1 microhertz steps.
It's even possible to have different frequency outputs.
E.g. 5 x 5 MHz and 5 x 10 MHz outputs in one 1U case.
Low Drift Oscillators
Low drift oscillators and oscillators immune to
temperature variations can also be supplied.
Crystal oscillators with ageing as low as 5 x 10E-11 per
day can be fitted. If even lower ageing is
required, a rubidium version can be supplied.
Ultra Low Phase Noise
Where we are really doing well with this product is the
supply of ultra low noise (ULN) oscillators.
For example a 10 MHz ULN oscillator can have -112 dBc/Hz
phase noise at an 1 Hz offset with a -170 dBc noise
floor.

Multiple Frequency Outputs
Internal distribution amplifiers can be fitted to give
either 5, 10 or 15 outputs. Outputs are usually
sinewave. Each individual output is fully isolated
from the main OXCO reference (130 dB isolation) and also
has typically 90 dB isolation to the other outputs.
Amplitude of each individual output can be set from 0
dBm to > +13 dBm. This is ideal when equipment
connected to the CFS10B has different input level
requirements.
Options can provide up to +30 dBm in output level.
